Hoosier Paranormal decided to do a
“cemetery run” on a Saturday evening and this was
the 2nd cemetery we visited. One of our new investigators, who is from
Jackson County, took us there. It is located in the Northwest part of
the county.
Taylor cemetery is a desolate place. It used to be located next to a
church but the church burned down under mysterious reasons many years
ago. It is rarely used today but is kept up by someone. Local legend
says that a ghost of a man who lost his wife inhabits it. He would come
to the cemetery everyday to sit and talk with his long lost love. He
even built a bench that is still there today to sit on. There are
neither eternal lights burning nor any other type of artificial
lighting.
The night we visited it was a warm, muggy night with little or no moon.
It was quite a dark night. Investigators present were Greg, Robert,
Shanon, Kenny and our newest member Randy. Equipment used included
digital cameras and recorders and Sony Nightshot cameras. A total
amount of time spent here was around and hour.
During the investigation no one really had any personal experiences.
The cemetery was quiet and very peaceful. We did locate the bench of
the old man. Shanon took time to sit in it, just to try and get a
perspective on what this man had looked at sitting here for many years.
Findings:
We did not record anything unusual on video or with our recorders,
however Robert took a strange picture (see below) that we cannot explain. There was
no one located in the background of the picture as we were all behind
him when he took it. Once again this cemetery has no eternal lights lit
or any other artificial lights.
Conclusion: Hoosier Paranormal was unable to find
any scientific evidence of the ghost of the old man or any other
spirits on this night. Our picture is unexplained except that if you
look close at the image you might be able to make out the figure of an
angel. We may need to do a follow up investigation at some point to
determine if anything supernatural is going on at Taylor Cemetery. |
