#5) Ghosts of Columbus

HI, when I was a kid we lived in Garden City, where the Hacienda Lounge was or may still be located. Anyway some friends of mine along with my younger bro. and sis, went out to an old house somewhere near Garden City, I remember we crossed the rail road tracks to get to this old house, it had been empty for years and I believe had been an old folks home. It was a two story maybe three stories. We went inside this old house up to some rooms looked as though they had been bedrooms, lots of old fashioned (even then) clothing mostly women’s laying on the floors. We were (exploring) the rooms when we heard some noises from downstairs, like someone hitting pipes or metal objects of some kind. The noises kept on, we were too scared to move, and finally we began to slowly make our way down the stairs without making noise, when we stopped on the stairs the noises would get louder and louder. To make a long story short we got our asses out of there fast and went over the fence instead of opening the gate. This was during the daytime. Later I would hear my Mom and neighbors talking of that old house being haunted. She didn’t know we had been there. Wow! Scary even now remembering it!  I do remember older kids talking about going up to that old house and hearing things and some that they heard whispers.
